Graffiti Project

One of Mainstream’s many developments this year is the start of the new Graffiti Removal Program. We have been the proud recipients of funding from the United Way of St. Catharines nd District Innovation Initiative. In partnership with the City of St. Catharines, Niagara Regional Police Services, Canada Post and Cogeco the goal of this new initiative is to reduce graffiti across the City of St. Catharines and educate young people about the negative effects of graffiti. With this grant of $10,400 for one year, the Graffiti Team is aspiring to make a difference in our community.

The team is operational three days a week by removing graffiti from Canada Post and Cogeco Cable metal furnishings throughout the City of St. Catharines. Before After This grant has allowed us the opportunity to raise awareness and promote community integration for the people we support as well as keeping our city beautiful.

The skills the participants acquire while participating in this initiative will help prepare them for future employment or volunteer positions within our community. We thank the Graffiti Team for their passion and commitment to the project and we look forward to finding a way to continue this service after the one year period.
