Residential Programs

Purpose:

To provide affordable, attractive rental accommodation and the necessary supports for individuals with a developmental challenge to live and participate in the community.

In order to achieve this goal, we offer:
    individualized planning to promote personal choice and responsibility
    support and personal guidance based on individual strengths
    skill training in all areas of living
    instruction to promote the awareness of support networks in the community



Supportive Independent Living Program

Our goal is to:
    provide life skills training to promote health, safety and enjoyment
       at home and in the community
    provide opportunities for personal development and enhancement of
       quality of life
    provide support in the areas of health care treatment, emergency response
       and crisis intervention
    promote awareness of support networks in the community
    provide life skill training as an aid to personal growth
    provide assistance to enable individuals to realize their dreams and goals
    provide individualized case management


Supported Living Program

Our goal is to:
    provide 24 hour support to adults over the age of 50 who have
       developmental challenges
    assist with lifestyle enhancement and the development of life and leisure
       skills conducive to retirement living
    provide a lifestyle program incorporating an individual program plan, participation
       in home maintenance and access to community resources
    provide a continuous supportive environment focusing on individual support,
       peer support and enhancement of interpersonal skills



Admission Criteria

Individuals must...
    apply through Contact Niagara at (905) 684-3407
    have a developmental challenge
    be 50 years of age or older
    be in receipt of ODSP
    demonstrate compatibility with other individuals residing in the home
