Position Title: Team Leader

 Work Hours: 76 hours bi-weekly

 Rate of Pay:  $24.38-$25.83 per hour

Work Schedule: Days, Afternoons, Weekdays, Weekends and On-Call rotation

 
Job Summary
 

Mainstream is committed to providing Person Centred Supports to the people we serve.  A person centered approach recognizes the right of individuals to make informed choices and take responsibility for those choices and related risks.  It builds on the strengths, gifts, talents, skills, and contributions of the individual and those who know and care about the person. 
 
Along with the Program Supervisor, the Team Leader plays an integral role in ensuring the successful operation of the program. The Team Leader is required to provide leadership and direction to the staff team to best meet the day to day functioning of the program and needs of people supported. He/she will communicate and work closely with the Program Supervisor to ensure the vision and strategic goals of the Supported Living Program are realized.  

 
The Team Leader is also expected to:

·        advocate and assist people supported to find a valuable place in their community

·        provide best support for people to realize their potential in all aspects of life

·        assist and explore ways  for people supported to identify goals that are important to them and seek opportunities to realize them

 
The Team Leader will be required to build and demonstrate respectful and positive relationships with persons supported, family members, a broad range of service providers, health practitioners and all Mainstream employees.

 
The Team Leader will also be required to be On Call on a rotating basis and gain a sound knowledge of Mainstream’s programs, policies and people supported in order to respond effectively to after-hours calls and emergencies.

 
Qualifications & Key Requirements: 

  
The successful candidate will demonstrate a talent for developing positive relationships and a passion for improving the lives of people with a developmental difference.

He/she will have a university degree/college diploma and several years of experience working with people.

Sound knowledge of Person Centred Thinking, First Aid/CPR and Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training certification is also required
